Introduction by Jennie:-
I cannot bear to get rid of scraps, so I’m always looking for a great, scrap-busting project and the Julia Wallet is one of my favourites! This little wallet uses scraps 10” square and smaller and is a great afternoon project that makes the perfect gift too. The wallet comes in two sizes and features a closure (use a magnet, Velcro or snap!), card pockets, bill pocket, and a zipper coin pocket on the back.
 
What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-
This workshop will teach you how to make your own Julia Wallet, which includes using your scraps, card pockets, magnetic closure (or another closure of your choice), and a zipper coin purse. You’ll learn how to make the wallet as minimally bulky as possible so there’s room for everything you want to carry and not a lot of excess fabric. We will be making the large wallet in class, but the pattern gives options for both sizes.
 
Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Beginner
Understanding of using the sewing machine, how to cut fabrics, and basic sewing are required.
 
Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
· ¼ yard medium woven interfacing such as Pellon SF101 or Viline Woven G700 or Legacy L101 OR use another medium weight non-woven fusible interfacing
· Matching thread for sewing and top stitching
 
Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Scrap fabrics are suitable for this project, as the majority of the pieces are small. If using scraps, follow cutting instructions for sizes. The sizes listed are generally larger than the fabrics needed, but represent the smallest cut for purchasing new fabrics.

  • 1 (One) x 1 ½” WOF strip

We will cut the fabrics in the class. Please have your fabrics selected in advance.
 
Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
The following equipment is required for the workshop, in addition to preparing all the pieces in advance. Please note, an extra sewing machine needle is advised as a needle is occasionally broken when sewing zippers.
