Our fun-filled, easy to follow Sewing & Quilting Workshop at Millennium Point at the end of May features the wonderfully talented & enigmatic Sarah Payne, a professional quilter who is widely recognised as a leading light of the quilting world!

Millennium Point is within easy walking distance from all three major Birmingham train stations and a short drive from the ring road, you can find us in the heart of Birmingham city centre’s Knowledge Quarter in the Eastside district. Free-Motion Embroidery & Quilting

A fun-packed day of not just one but TWO techniques!  

In the morning session Sarah will show you how you can create a fun design using scraps of fabric and your free motion/embroidery foot on your sewing machine. You will learn how to create your design, transfer it onto fabric and then 'draw' it with your sewing machine. This is a fun experimental class and you will end up with one or more raw edged appliqué and free-motion stitched blocks that you can turn into a cushion, frame or use as the basis for a new quilt.

After lunch, in the afternoon you will take the morning’s newly-learned skills and apply then to free-motion quilting. Sarah will show you how to create a practice 'quilt sandwich' and how to add creative quilting designs to add interest to your quilt blocks. Sarah will also supply you with a number of prepared quilt blocks to play with, which you can then turn into a cushion, placemat, wall-hanging, etc when you get home. All in all a pretty fabulous day! 

This course is priced at £99 per person (including lunch & light refreshments) and we only have 20 places available, so please be sure you book early to avoid the potential of disappointment!
